Looking to mix fun with science this school holidays?
The Australian Science and Mathematics School (ASMS) will host SciWorld’s Pop-Up Science Centre for two days in the October school holidays.
Spectacular science shows, Stardome sessions, Robotics, Weird Science and Up Up and Away workshops, as a well as a variety of hands-on activities will be available at the Pop-Up Science Centre.
The opportunity to explore science in the “make and take” area and launch small-scale rockets will also be offered.
SciWorld’s Pop-Up Science Centre is open to people of all ages however, is most suited for primary-school aged children. Featured activities will include:
- Stardome session – learn all about the solar system. Suitable for all ages.
- Robotics workshop – learn how to program your Lego NXT Robot to move around and even do the Mexican wave. Suitable for children eight years and over.
- Up Up and Away workshop – learn about air pressure and have fun racing cars, riding on a hovercraft and learning about Bernoulli’s principle. Suitable for all ages.
- Weird Science workshop – learn about illusions and the “how and why” behind some really weird science tricks. Suitable for all ages.
South Australian families and children can spend three full hours exploring the world and the wonders of science on Monday 28 September and Tuesday 29 September.
Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite. Entry is $15 per child five years and over. Adults and younger siblings attend for free.
