SteamRanger Teddy Bears’ Picnic Train | 9 May & 5 Sep 2026
The special SteamRanger experience for young families is back in May and September with the ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ train.
The Teddy Bears Picnic train operates between Mount Barker and Strathalbyn, departing Mount Barker at 10am in the morning and returning in the afternoon around 3pm. Pack your own picnic to enjoy at the Strathalbyn Station park or the amazing Strathalbyn Visitors Centre team will suggest some great local cafés or bakeries for you to visit.
Highlights include:
- Teddy Bears’ Picnic badge for each child upon arrival at Mt Barker
- Petting Farm (Strathalbyn) entry for each child
- Face painting for each child (Strathalbyn)
- Children’s activity pack and balloon on return train
The dates are scheduled on the Saturdays before Mother’s Day in May and Father’s Day in September.
Tickets:
- Return Fare (17 and over) $48
- Child Return Fare (4 to 16) $32
- Children under 4 $5 (but not allocated a seat)
- Seniors Return Fare – $44
- Family of Four Return Fare (2 Adults + 2 Children) $35 each
