Trash Test Dummies Circus: Adelaide Fringe 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   5 Stars for complete silliness that has kids cackling and squealing with delight.

Review by Claire Davill

The Dummies are a Fringe mainstay, and for good reason. They know what kids like, and lean into it – hard. What results is a show full of silliness, slapstick, acrobatics and dance. The precision of their choreography is evident, and yet the show is wildly chaotic. They have an amazing ability to hype kids up to the point of them nearly storming the stage – and manage to regain control again (much to the relief of many worried parents!).

Trash Test Dummies is a show centered around three garbologists and lots of wheelie bins. The crew show amazing ingenuity, as the bins become props for dance, juggling, drumming and wheeling across the stage. The acrobatic feats are jaw dropping, but the majority of the show focuses on three stooges-like slapstick, cheeky jokes and all-round silliness.

The result is a venue full of children laughing constantly, squealing with delight and giddy with excitement. They’ll leave the show hyped up and happy.

Trash Test Dummies Circus is performing until Sunday 17 March 2024 in the Umbrella Revolution at The Garden of Unearthly Delights.
