Witton Bluff Base Trail Official Opening | 23 Aug 2025

The Witton Bluff Base Trail — a 1.1-kilometre accessible coastal pathway connecting Christies Beach and Port Noarlunga, will be completed in August 2025 and officially opened with a brief ceremony.
This event marks the completion of the final stage of the project, enabling uninterrupted access along the full length of the trail. It will be possible to walk, stroll, jog, or ride between the coastal townships of Christies Beach and Port Noarlunga along a bicycle, pram and wheelchair-friendly path.
Join the City of Onkaparinga for a short ceremony to mark this significant milestone, followed by the opportunity to walk the trail and enjoy its spectacular views, or simply relax and take in the seaside atmosphere at one of Christies Beach’s local cafés or eateries.
This important project completes the final link in the Coast Park trail network from O’Sullivan Beach to Moana, enhancing access, supporting active travel and offering a more connected and enjoyable coastal experience. Alongside the new trail, recent seawall upgrades at Christies Beach have strengthened coastal defences—helping protect the area from erosion and the growing impacts of climate change.
The Witton Bluff Base Trail is expected to be completed in early August 2025 and will be open for community use ahead of the official opening event.
Stage 1, opened to the public in December 2024, delivered a three-metre-wide shared-use boardwalk from Port Noarlunga to the tip of the bluff.
