World Laughter Day | Free Family Event | 3 May 2015

world-laughter-day-2015

It’s no joke that daily laughter is the best way to release stress and keep healthy.

World Laughter Day 2015 will be celebrated at Rymill Park on Sunday May 3rd with a focus on fun and wellness.  Join in the fun with laughter yoga groups and community group demonstrations.  Just ten to fifteen minutes of laughter can do everything from improve memory and boost your immune system.

Laughter Yoga involves deep diaphragmatic breathing, which fully oxygenates the bloodstream and major organs. Research has already shown that regular practice of Laughter Yoga generates a positive state of mind with increased optimism. A study conducted at Washington University showed that even a quick intervention had a positive effect on depressed patients, which proves that laughter real or fake is a great way to reduce stressful thoughts. Laughter Yoga is an ideal method to help people to laugh for no reason. It provides the same physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.

 Come along and enjoy:

  • laughter yoga
  • yoga
  • tai chi
  • mindfulness
  • movement groups
  • face painting
  • games for kids
