1947 Coffee Co. Cafe | Clearview | Review

1947 Coffee Co. offers a bright, open eating space with delicious family-friendly foods and a bonus outdoor play area.

Located in the brand new Evergreen Community Precinct that sits adjacent to Enfield Memorial Park, the cafe sits overlooking  lawns and bushland sloping down to the western suburbs. The interior is open and light-filled and welcoming, with plenty of tables and booths and high chairs for little ones. There’s also plenty of seating outside in the sunshine (when the weather is nice).

The cafe is open from 8am-3:30pm weekdays and 9am-2pm on Saturdays, and offers an all-day menu suitable for breakfast, brunch or lunch. There are also takeaway options and cakes, slices, muffins, sandwiches and wraps.

The cafe partners with several local suppliers and the focus is on fresh local produce. There are plenty of coffee options and a very wide selection of teas as well. The coffee met our picky standards easily, and for something different we can highly recommend the matcha latte with white chocolate.

The dedicated kids menu offers the usual options such as nuggets and chips, cheese toasties and egg on toast. We chose the peanut butter and jelly toastie which was huge and very tasty. Make sure the kids order a hot chocolate too, with teddy bear “latte art” on top!

We sampled the twice-baked french toast and the loaded banana bread, both great options for an indulgent breakfast. Other options more suited to brunch or lunch include burgers, salads and fried rice.

Just outside there’s a small playground suitable for a quick play, with plenty of sand, stepping stones and a small climbing rope and log fort.

There’s plenty of parking within the precinct, including a rapid EV car charger on the Chargefox network.

Things to Consider:

  • The Evergreen Community Precinct is designed as a multi-use area within Enfield Memorial Park, so the cafe and playground are adjacent to cemetery grounds. The building also hosts funeral services, so you may see a hearse drive past while visiting. Enfield Memorial Park is a beautiful park to wander through, but if you are uncomfortable in or near cemeteries, this may not be for you. The cafe is quite separate from the cemetery and there are no grave sites in view of the cafe itself.
  • The playground is not shaded and not fully fenced. It’s located in a quiet area with fencing along the nearest public roads, but it is across a driveway from the cafe. This driveway is only used for funeral traffic and bollards are in place at other times.

Location:

Corner of Gordon Ave and Ridgeway Ave, Clearview

Open 8am-3:30pm weekdays and 9am-2pm Saturdays.
