27 Club: Adelaide Fringe 2025
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – the infamous club has returned and it’s on fire
by Carla Caruso
The 27 Club is back at the Adelaide Fringe for its fifth, and final, season (for now).
Play & Go went along to an acoustic preview of the show at the Little Bang Tap Room in Stepney on 18 February 2025.
The show, produced by SA’s Amplified House, has become one of the biggest at the Fringe. But in case you haven’t heard about it … it salutes the rock star icons who left us too early, aged only 27 – Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, and Jim Morrison. Each was a musical voice of their generation.
The show stars a rotating cast of top Aussie artists including Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans, Jebediah), Carla Lippis (Mondo Psycho), Dusty Lee Stephensen (Wanderers), Justin Burford (End of Fashion), Virginia Lillye (Lillye, The Voice) and Bek Jensen, along with a cracking four-piece band.

This year, 27 Club will aptly stage 27 performances at Gluttony in Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka, plus some pop-up events at the Little Bang Tap Room. (Keep an eye on the latter’s social media for details.)
Little Bang – one of the state’s premier craft breweries and taphouses – is also keeping the ‘friendship’ going by crafting a range of sauces to complement the 27 Club season.
This includes a Light My Fire charred chilli sauce and Roadhouse Blues barbecue sauce (honouring The Doors), and In Bloom pineapple and chilli ketchup (hello, Nirvana). These can be purchased from the taphouse during the Fringe.
With the 27 Club scooping the Fringe’s Best Music Award in 2021, the must-see show will have you praying to the rock gods for more.
‘Come as you are’ and celebrate the musical legends who will forever be 27!
