50SIXONE Dessert Bar

50SIXONE Dessert Bar | Review

EDITOR’S NOTE: 50SIXONE HAS CLOSED DOWN Feb 2020

Willy Wonka eat your heart out! No golden ticket required here! My daughter and I have just arrived at Adelaide’s newest sleek dessert cafe, 50sixone.

Yes it’s freezing in Adelaide, and yes I was just after a coffee hit; until we spotted it across the room……the OMG! Snapchat That! One of 50sixone’s ‘Insta-Famous Shakes’. What a sight to behold! (See it pictured bottom left below). A colourful rainbow of sugary delight for young and old! Forget the time of day, forget the calories and forget the budget….we had to try one! 50sixone had us under its spell, and what a spell it was!

With names like ‘Pretzel for President‘ ,’Oreo’ Glad to see me?‘ And the ‘Hot Choc Pop’ it is well worth the trip to this new cafe. Homemade ice-creams and ice cream pop sticks with gold leaf are another drawcard for all. With dessert available from 7am – 11pm Adelaidians will never have to go without a little taste of magic again.

It’s fair to say, after three more visits to 50sixone that this is a place for that something special for everyone! My husband even got a kick out of watching what people were devouring from the menu, eyes lighting up with pure excitement as they were served.

A fantastic place to bring out the big kid in all of us, and the look on your children’s face when their dessert arrives is well worth every cent!

Want something savoury? 50sixone also do breakfast all day and night! See their Crispy Corn Fritters below.

One suggestion: try it soon before the warm weather hits as the line up will be down the street!

This review was written and photographed by Emma Parkinson of Adelaide Boutique Online. Meet Emma …. Child wrangling mother of three, with an albeit mundane background in health/finance and recruitment. The three c’s in her life ( her 3 children) has led her to treasure three other c’s……coffee, culture and champagne. Not necessarily in that order! A need for escapism from the daily routine of marriage and motherhood led Emma to explore. Whether it be new exciting cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries, markets, playgrounds, children’s activities, accommodation, farmgates; Emma loves to track them down and discover ‘ Boutique Adelaide’. Welcome to part of her journey. Enjoy the ride …..or should I say read.
