Win Tickets to Circolombia and Ponydance | Adelaide Fringe 2013

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.  CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS J.KELSH AND J.FANTOZZI.

Needing a night out without the kids?  Overdue for a ‘Date Night’ with your partner or perhaps a few laughs with a girlfriend?  If you can answer YES to one of these questions then why not enter our giveaway competition for a chance to attend one of the following two fabulous shows featuring at this year’s Adelaide Fringe.   With thanks to Arts Projects Australia, Play & Go readers have a chance to win a double pass to each show and as an added bonus will be given the opportunity of selecting the session of their choice.  Both shows are staged in the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

Circolombia

The vibrancy of Colombia explodes into colour as the performers of Circolombia jump, somersault, fly, tumble and break-dance their way through the astonishing stories of street life in the city of Cali, Colombia.  A revolutionary circus experience, this production was originally commissioned by the Roundhouse Theatre in London, where it had a sell-out season before going on to be a hit in Edinburgh, Paris and New York.

Circolombia is an extraordinary company of young artists from the Circo Para Todos (Circus For All) school in Colombia and they paint a freestyle portrait of their world through heart-stopping acrobatics, high voltage energy with a physical, raw, volcanic and incredibly honest style.

Ponydance

Ponydance – that fabulous bunch from Ireland who won best dance performance at the 2012 Fringe, but could just have easily won best comedy as well if they had remembered to nominate themselves  – are back with a brand new show – ANYBODY WAITIN?

This time they are in the Garden of Unearthly Delights in the Romantiek for four whole weeks – usually at 10pm. But they have agreed to come back from Glenelg Beach early a few days so those with early bed times can have a look. But only a few times. Really there are priorities at stake – Swim at beach? Or perform? Get burnt at beach? Or Perform? Build a sandcastle at beach? Or Perform? OK – four times in four weeks at 4pm.

What are they doing? Well …. Leonie is waiting for Paula, Paula is waiting for a man, Bryan is waiting to be included. But sure, we are all waiting for something, mostly for something to happen, so you have come to the right place because these guys know how to fill the time better than most. A love for good dancing, good looks and a good time is what they have in common. Join them to get some of each.

To give you any idea of the kind of fun you will have with Ponydance, they’ve been described as a group that “dance lovers will love and that dance-haters will love”. It’s one of the most original and best nights out in mad March and is guaranteed to leave you on a laughter high hours after the show.

Ponydance is on every night (except Mondays) at 10pm until Sunday, March 17th,  plus they also have matinee sessions at 4pm on Saturdays.  Circolombia is on every night (except Monday) at 9.30pm until Saturday, March 9th.  The winner can choose the session they wish to attend (allow for 48 hours notice).
