Fig Season – Pick Your Own Figs in the Adelaide Hills.

Fig season 2026 is scheduled to commence on 24 February. Forage through their terraced 12,000 tree orchard for perfect fruit and discover five varieties of figs whilst enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding hills.

Pick Your Own is open daily from 9am to 3pm* during the season (February to April) *subject to private events.

Please always check their website before planning your visit as opening times can change daily.

The orchard is located north-east of Adelaide and takes only 25 minutes travel time from the CBD. Enter to the orchard is via Glen Ewin Estate’s main entrance.

Please note the orchard has five fig varieties that ripen at different times of the season so please enquire to avoid disappointment.

Costs:

  • Entry Fee $5
  • Figs per Kilo $15
  • Children under 12 years old are free (must be supervised)
  • Varieties ripen at different times of the season, please enquire to avoid disappointment

Condition of Entry:

  • Enter at own risk, full disclaimer to be completed upon registration
  • External Food & Drinks not permitted due to current biosecurity risks such as fruit fly and phylloxera

Recommendations:

  • Enclosed walking shoes
  • Sun protection
  • Stay hydrated
  • Long sleeves whilst picking (sap & leaves may irritate sensitive skin)

After foraging for fresh figs, you are welcome to stay at the Figbar for their signature Pot & Still Fig Gin or for a bite to eat.  Chef prepared picnic boxes are available Thursday to Sunday which require pre-ordering (BOOK HERE). You can also have all day breakfast, light food and refreshments in the Gatehouse Bar (walk-in only).
