Spooky Streets – City of Onkaparinga
If you would like to close your neighbourhood street to host a family-friendly Halloween celebration, the City of Onkaparinga need to know by 23 July 2022 to allow time to arrange the road closure.
The 1000 Play Streets project is a way for Australians to reclaim their streets as places for people of all ages to connect and play. Holding a Spooky Street in late October is a frightfully great way to ‘Trick or Treat’ and connect with your neighbours right outside your own home.
The council can assist with planning, arrange road closure permits, cover public liability, as well as providing sporting equipment and giveaways for the children.
Check to see if your street is eligible, then fill out the application form. There is a limit on the number of streets they can support.
