Inclusive Play Day | Gawler | 2 Apr 2023

The Town of Gawler is hosting an inclusive play day on Sunday 2 April 2023.

The event is in honour of World Autism Awareness Day and aims to reinforce the need to optimise opportunities for all ages and abilities in our playgrounds, including people with different learning, social and physical abilities and styles.

The purpose of this day is to explore and experience different forms of play and play experiences, and to provide feedback on Gawler Council’s ‘Playspace and Inclusivity Strategy’.

The fun will kick off at 10am and there will be activities for children of all ages and abilities, such as:

  • Sensory activities exploring different forms of play and play experiences
  • Nature play activities along the riverbank
  • Creative playground making
  • Facepainting

Communication aids, speech pathologists and a Sensory Zone marquee will be available to provide sensory and communication support.

There will also be a FREE sausage sizzle, ice creams and sensory plant giveaway.

This is a FREE event, but please register your interest in attending here.
