Trash Test Dummies Circus | Adelaide Fringe 2026 | Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   5 Stars for slapstick, silliness, and sensational acrobatics.

Review by Claire Davill

The Dummies never fail to entertain young audiences at the Fringe, and this, their final year of Trash Test Dummies, is no exception.

Even the youngest kids will be squealing with delight as the three garbologists expertly play to their audience, mingling with the crowd before and during the show. You might even find your kid’s snacks being eaten, their shoes popped in garbage bags, or even your phone stolen for a quick selfie on stage!

The choreography is simultaneously precise and chaotic, with wheelie bins becoming props for slapstick humour, acrobatic balancing and impressive juggling.

Floating garbage bags, bouncing bombs and a whole bag full of balls launched into the audience has the kids out of their seats and storming the stage. Just as it seems the venue has descended into uncontrollable chaos, the performers expertly calm the kids back down with skills that would rival the most experienced primary school teacher.

The slapstick silliness keeps the kids engaged, but the adults are not forgotten, with mock seductive poses, slo-mo Chariots of Fire sequences, and even a nod to Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam” painting. The result is non-stop laughs and gasps as every inch of the stage is used to delight and astound the audience.
