⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  5 Stars for bubble mayhem, big smiles and a million-bubble finale in a cosmic adventure.

Review by Danielle Parker

Families looking for a fun and visually spectacular show at the Adelaide Fringe will find plenty to love in The Bubble Show in Space, held in The Peacock tent at Gluttony. This one-hour family show stars the energetic duo, Milkshake and Dr Bubble, who blast off on a playful space adventure filled with extraordinary bubble creations.

The Bubble Show in Space

Created by Bubble Laboratory, the show combines clowning, storytelling, mime and puppetry with bubble artistry to take us into space. Our hosts Milkshake and Dr Bubble kept the audience entertained with their larger-than-life personalities and masterful bubble skills, often hilariously playing the audience against each other and encouraging plenty of participation from the crowd.

The show is packed with playful moments and clever bubble tricks that keep kids entertained. At one point, a bubble rocket ship is created and launched into the air, while another scene sees Milkshake magically shrink into a mini version of themself before returning to normal size. There are plenty of fun surprises along the way, including a fiery ice cream experiment.

Kids were highly engaged throughout the performance, with many eager volunteers hoping to be chosen to go on stage. Three lucky child aliens were eventually selected from a sea of enthusiastic hands to help with the bubble experiments.

The excitement really builds towards the finale, when the room is filled with bubbles and children rush down to the front of the stage, concert-style, to get amongst the bubble mayhem. One four-year-old audience member summed it up perfectly when they said their favourite part was the bubble-filled finale.

The Bubble Show in Space

Milkshake and Dr Bubble earned a well-deserved round of loud applause at the end of the show. We highly recommend The Bubble Show in Space for families with curious, interactive babies through to middle-primary-school-aged children.

While the bubble tricks are incredibly impressive, they also left us realising our own attempts at blowing bubbles at home might need a little more practice!
