Gerard McCabe Jewellers Celebrating 40 Years Exhibition | 1-30 May 2026
Award-winning Adelaide jeweller, Gerard McCabe, will be hosting a special month-long exhibition in the Adelaide Arcade to celebrate its 40th anniversary milestone.
Their rich history will be on display inside the iconic Adelaide Arcade from Friday 1 May until the end of May 2026, where visitors can journey through six generations of the McCabe family and their four decades of jewellery craftsmanship, design, heritage, and treasured memories.
The exhibition brings together their story, which started in 1878 when the McCabe family first came to Australia and opened a tailor shop on Hindley Street. Over the next century, the family trade evolved from tailoring to jewellery manufacturing and retail, with Gerard and Pauline McCabe opening the doors to Gerard McCabe Jewellers on April 1, 1986.
The exhibition will showcase this history, along with four-decades of the company’s evolution, including significant community events, and meaningful customer and staff stories. There will also be a small collection of treasured family artefacts on display, dating back to the late 1800’s.

- Monday – Thursday | 9am-6pm
- Fridays | 9am-9pm
- Saturday-Sunday | 9am-5pm
Curated Client Jewellery Exhibition | Friday 1 – Sunday 3 May 2026
For three days, from Friday 1 May until Sunday 3 May, there will also be a curated selection of pieces from valued customers on display, each carrying its own story, sentiment, and place in time providing visitors with a rare opportunity to view remarkable items from personal collections, and discover how jewellery has become part of their own history.
Some of the selected items include an impressive collection of six intricate cross pendants, ranging from solid gold to those adorned with a range of gemstones, a striking vintage Tiffany jade set, two opal rings by Gerard’s father, Patrick McCabe, and a Tanzanite pendant from a 2003 catalogue.

- Sunday 3 May 2026 | 11:30am – 3:30pm
Antique Jewellery Roadshow | Friday 8 May 2026
The celebrations continue on Friday 8 May, when the Antique Jewellery Roadshow returns for one special day. Guests are invited to bring their own heirlooms and personal pieces to the Adelaide Arcade store, where the McCabe team will offer complimentary assessments and share insights into the craftsmanship and eras behind each piece. Bookings are essential.
The Antique Jewellery Roadshow will run from 9:30am – 3:30pm.
