Check Your Cupboards – the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market is collecting wool for a good cause.
Before you head to the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market, have a look through your cupboards, craft room or that box of unfinished projects. Sunday 5 July marks the start of their Great Wool Round Up and they’d love your help collecting clean, dry wool of all colours and quantities, including full balls, part balls, skeins and leftover wool that might otherwise sit unused.
Not a knitter? Ask your family, friends, neighbours or workmates if they have any wool tucked away that they no longer need. Every ball of wool has the potential to become something special for someone who needs it.
Over the coming weeks the Market will be welcoming some wonderful community groups who will be putting your donated wool to good use. They’ll be demonstrating their knitting and crochet skills, sharing tips and techniques, and showcasing some of the comfort items, blankets and toys created for people in need, including trauma teddies and handmade gifts that bring warmth and comfort.
So start hunting through those cupboards and take your wool along to the Market – they are collecting every Sunday in July!
