A Thousand Cranes
Contemporary dance and live music unite to tell the moving story of Sadako – the girl who folded a thousand cranes for peace.
Opening on Tuesday 5 March 2019 at The Parks Theatre, The Gemini Collective present “A Thousand Cranes”, a cross-artform production in the round. With a new score composed by Jennifer Trijo, choreography by Sarah Williams and design by Anthony Butler, this beautiful theatre experience is brought to you by 5 performers who play the music live on stage, with dancing, singing, shadow puppetry and aerial silks.
There may not be a dry eye in the house after Sadako and her family share their heartbreaking story of her struggle with Leukaemia, but you may leave the theatre full of hope for the future and encouraged by what one person is capable of doing – that is changing the world.
