Auburn Frenchfest

Immerse yourself in a weekend of French Culture, enjoying French music, theatre, and food along with the best of the Clare Valley region including local wines, produce, arts, crafts and more.

Go along to beautiful Auburn in the Clare Valley and have an affaire française. The festival showcases a spectrum of theatrical and musical performances highlighted by artist Louise Blackwell and her band. Feast on French inspired cuisine, embark on the wine and cheese trail, try your hand at crepe-making (limited spots left) or explore the local offerings in the Market.

Family-friendly Highlights:

If you’re looking to get actively involved in some activities, enjoy the acrobatic talents of the Circobats who are also offering free workshops for children and those young at heart. Learn, develop and enhance your skills in the circus arts.

Bookings are not required, however you’ll need to be early as spaces are limited.

‘Come and try’ Pétanque at Mount Horrocks Wines:

Get your family’s competitive spirit flowing with ‘come and try’ Pétanque at Mount Horrocks Wines, a traditional French game, similar to lawn bowls where players or teams play their boules/balls towards a target ball.

Puppet Shows:

The cast of Panache, will perform a wonderful ensemble of Children’s stories to delight all including two marionette performances of the classic stories ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Narrated in English, with dialogue in French, and plenty of audience interaction its an educational and fun experience.

The Market:

Meet the local makers and browse local products at the Market. There’ll be wine, olives, oil, dukkha, soaps, body products, artworks and honey all whilst enjoying French cuisine to keep your belly full and listening to live French music by Trio Montagne to lighten the soul.

Outside the market, wander to the park to experience the food trucks and other pop up stalls.

Wine & Cheese Trail:

The Wine and Cheese Trail is running on both Saturday and Sunday and includes free tastings at participating cellar doors, vouchers, cheese hamper, an Auburn Frenchfest branded wine glass and a map so you can follow along ‘Yellow Brick Road’ style.
