The Barossa Bushgardens Natural Resource Centre Official Opening and Open Day will be held on Sunday, 6 April 2014 in Nuriootpa. The day will be incorporating the official Opening of the Barossa Bushgardens Natural Resource Centre and will kick off the autumn planting season with local native plants, advice and information from the Barossa Bushgardens. The Autumn Plant Sale and Open Day will run from 10am until 3pm.
The family friendly, free events include:
- Local native plants for sale from $3
- Guided tours of the Barossa Bushgardens, Grassy Groundcovers project site and new Labyrinth Project
- Sustainability Workshops
- A variety of stallholders
- Children’s Activities in the Gardens
- Planting and native gardening advice
Part of the day will also incorporate the official opening of the new Natural Resource Centre at 1pm.
This initiative aims to increase environmental stewardship by raising awareness and participation in a range of natural resource programs and activities. Local vigneron, long term Bushgardens supporter and one of the original advocates for the development of the Bushgardens, Prue Henschke will official open the Natural Resource Centre at 1pm. Representatives from the proud supporting organisations, Barossa Council CEO Martin Macarthy and starff and board members from the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board will also be in attendance.
