Bio.R Planting Festival at Frahns Farm

The 2023 Bio·R Planting Festival will be held at Frahns Farm for the 8th consecutive year.

This year, the event is aiming to reconstruct another 20 hectares of wildlife habitat with 40,000 seedlings to be planted. The organisers need the community’s help to achieve that goal. Make sure to get out your gumboots (or shoes suitable for muddy conditions), gardening gloves and some warm clothes to help plant some seedlings.

Approximate timings for each session:

  • 9:30am – Arrival for daily briefing and morning planting session
  • 12:00pm onwards – Staggered lunch
  • 1:00pm onwards – Staggered afternoon planting session
  • 3:00pm – Afternoon tea
  • 3:30pm – Tour (optional)

What to take:

  • Clothing suitable for variable weather conditions (consider sun, wind and rain)
  • Footwear suitable for wet, muddy conditions (work boots, gumboots etc.)
  • Gardening gloves for planting
  • Hand mattock/trowel
  • Water bottle
  • Cutlery/bowl/plate/mug
  • Chair or picnic rug

Other useful items:

  • Bucket to carry water bottle and tools around the site
  • Stool/crate/kneeling pad for comfort whilst planting
  • Waterproof/plastic bag to put dirty boots and wet weather gear in at the end of the day

Dates:

  • Saturday 10 June
  • Sunday 11 June
  • Saturday 17 June
  • Sunday 18 June
  • Saturday 24 June
  • Sunday 25 June

Tickets:

This year, there is a $10 registration fee to partially cover the costs of catering, which is $25 per person. This helps to reduce food wastage and give caterers a more accurate indication of numbers each day.

Catering will include lunch and afternoon tea, along with tea, coffee and water. Please remember to take your own plate, bowl, mug and utensils.

If you wish to cover the full cost of catering, you can choose to register with the $25 ticket option.

  • Adult Registration (partial contribution to catering) | $10
  • Adult Registration (full contribution to catering) | $25
