Bluey’s World in Brisbane, Queensland is a wholesome fun experience that the whole family will enjoy.

Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji

It can be challenging to find television shows that are appropriate, engaging and enjoyable for the whole family. However, the Australian television series Bluey, fits this to a T and also delivers relatable and heart warming entertainment with valuable life lessons filtered throughout.

Whilst Bluey is a popular television show, children and families can take their love of Bluey one step further and enjoy a one-of-a-kind guided immersive experience at Bluey’s World in Brisbane.

Travelling all the way to Brisbane for a Bluey’s World experience is not a cheap exercise so if you are considering making the trip, let me share my experience as a mum of two children aged 4 and 7, that recently returned.

Bluey’s World is located at the Northshore pavilion in Hamilton on the Brisbane river. Depending on traffic, its about a 15-minute drive from the Brisbane airport or an hour and 15 minutes from Coolangatta airport. With two small kids in tow we opted to hire a rental car and managed to score cheap flights to the Gold Coast so we made our way there by car. The car park is huge and we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was free too. However, if you are spending some time in Brisbane and would like your transport to double as part of the activity, you can also catch the popular CityCat ferry.

Making your way around to the entry, you hand over your tickets, are given a choice of plush ears, walk through the door and find yourself in front of the Heeler’s House. There is excitement in the air, music from the show is blasting and waiting in line you can’t help but dance. There are plenty of opportunities for photos and as you look around you notice the incredible detail they have gone to bringing the show to life. Before long you are greeted by a fairy, taken through the house and it is at this point that you need to put your phone away and resist the urge to take photos until the end.

Walking through the house you are met with a range of the popular characters and each area has a variety of fun games to play and interactive experiences. As you make your way through the house the game is centred around the episode called “Gnomes Big Day” where Tony the Gnome has to find Bluey and Bingo and you are there to help him on this mission. Each room has its own charm and my children particularly loved playing under the Poinciana tree.

The hour passes quite quickly and before you know it you are face to face with Bluey and Bingo themselves and taking a happy snap to commemorate the day. The experience then takes you through to Alfie’s gift shop, an indoor playground, café and takeaway shop. This is also where you can pick your phone up again and start taking photos. The set is so well done you feel like you have literally stepped inside the TV show. There are so many kids playing and having a ball and the café serves the cutest little ice cream pops. We ate before we went but treated the kids to ice cream afterwards and stopped for a coffee.

Once outside of Bluey’s World we noticed a lovely pirate themed playground next to the water and made our way over to check it out. This was much smaller than the one in side but it is perfect for toddlers and small children and a lovely shaded space next to grassy knolls. Also close by is a lovely looking café on the water, if you are seeking food or drink before your visit.

So exactly how much money did the Blueys World experience set us back? We visited during an off peak session and paid $49.90 per person with children and adults being the same price.  If visiting during peak times the entry jumps up to $64.90 per person. So for a family of two adults and two children you are looking at around $200 (as at December 2025).

Was it worth it? That is a big call to make but for us absolutely it was. Our whole family loves Bluey so not only was it enjoyable for young and old, seeing the joy on the kids faces was priceless. Alongside this we made the decision that this trip was a combined gift for the girl’s birthdays in lieu of throwing birthday parties. So even though it was expensive purchasing flights, accommodation, car hire and activities, it would have been similar cost to throw two children’s parties at play cafes. This was how we justified it in our head anyway.

So what should you know before planning a trip to Bluey’s World? Firstly, keep an eye out for cheap flights and look at both Coolangatta and Brisbane airport to compare pricing. We love a good theme so purchased Blueys branded clothing before we left so we could show up in full blown Bluey attire. Be prepared that the gift shop is tempting but expensive so try to move it along quickly there to avoid nagging children. If you travel by car and visit in the afternoon on a weekend there is a popular place called Eat Street Northshore not too far away. If your children aren’t too exhausted this would be a great spot to grab an easy dinner after Bluey’s World.

Things to consider

  • Phones aren’t allowed inside the Blueys world experience and if you want to take home the photo with Bluey and Bingo you will need to purchase this
  • Prams aren’t allowed inside either so if you have an infant or small child consider bringing a carrier
  • The onsite café caters to vegetarian and gluten free diners and wasn’t ridiculously expensive
  • Parking is free and there is ample space provided
  • Bluey’s world is fully wheelchair accessible throughout and also has accessible bathrooms
  • Visitors with sensory sensitivity can go to the info desk for over ear protectors. There are also sensory sessions available with reduced capacity and stimuli
  • There are AUSLAN specific sessions
  • Assistance animals are welcoming but you may be asked to provide evidence of the animal being a trained assistance animal
