Carols at Kingswood Oval festivities kick off with kid’s activities, craft stalls and roving entertainers and a Christmas Market.
One of Adelaide’s most loved community Christmas events, Carols at Kingswood Oval! , is now in its 28th year. This free family celebration brings thousands together for a night of festive spirit, live entertainment and community connection. With a crowd of more than 5,000 and performances from local schools, choirs and entertainers, it’s the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season in the City of Mitcham.
Join the fun from 5pm to grab a spot and enjoy a range of children’s activities such as face painting, crafts and juggling. The stage show begins with a Welcome to Country at 7pm and will finish at 9pm after a visit from Father Christmas.
Take along a rug or chairs and enjoy a BYO picnic or purchase dinner from a variety of food and drink vans. Browse Christmas market stalls and stop in at the CFS marquee to collect your candle (gold coin donations welcome, raising money for the CFS). Performances will be shown on a large LED screen ensuring wherever you are seated on the oval you will be able to enjoy the show.
Residents are encouraged to walk, bus or cycle to the event and take advantage of bike parks on Rugby Street. Help to minimise waste by taking your own water bottle for refills at two SA Water Quench Bench fountains.

Getting to the event:
Walk, bus or cycle to the event and take advantage of bike parks on Rugby Street.
Traffic and speed restrictions will be in place, including one-way traffic on Rugby Street between Seafield Avenue and Kyre Avenue, and on Kyre Avenue between Rugby Street and Cambridge Terrace. Accessible parking can be accessed via Kyre Avenue on the southern side of the oval. There will be a ‘kiss and drop’ area on the corner of Rugby Street and Kyre Avenue.
