Chores
The simplest things in life are often the best and that’s definitely true of this very funny show which is a mix of circus acrobatics and slapstick with very few spoken words but lots of action, fun, tricks and silliness.
What starts off as a “chore” quickly becomes the amusing tale of two brothers attempting to tidy their room with very little success. They quickly become side-tracked from their onerous task and the story follows them as they launch into finding “toys” to play with and to fight over, toys to juggle, throw, catch or fall over. Parents will nod knowingly at this point. Kids will laugh.
There are some great acrobatic tricks including small and giant rings, impressive juggling acts and some unicycle riding, all achieved on a small stage.
Performers Julian and Derek are highly engaging and have audience members laughing throughout most of the show. They do a great job of combining slapstick comedy, acrobatics and juggling which is all well choreographed.
Kids will love the flying toilet paper scene and watching Julian and Derek play tricks on each other. There are lots of silly scenes which will be appreciated by younger audience members, however there are still lots of funny scenarios for older kids and adults too.
Prepare to become involved in the show from your seat as the performers chase each other around the audience, interact with people in the audience and spray each other with water (you may get a little bit wet!).
This is a really fun show for kids and adults and we had a great time watching it.
