Cirque Alfonse – Animal: Adelaide Fringe 2024 Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Be prepared to be amazed by the balancing strength and high-flying circus acts in Cirque Alfonse’s Australian premiere of ‘Animal’!
Described as ‘a farm fantasy for young and old alike’, there is one hillbilly comedy routine after the other at this crazy, musical family farm! The performers are all multi talented, from playing musical instruments and singing, to tap dancing and pulling off daring aerial stunts. Comedy is at the forefront of everything they do and the odd mishap leads to extra laughs and cheers from the audience. Both the men and women pull off some incredible body balancing acts and display a physical strength you need to see to believe.
It’s certainly a unique style of entertainment the Cirque Alfonse family bring to the stage. Their high energy 75 minute show will have you laughing out loud, gasping in awe and clapping along to their live folk rock music. There is pitch fork juggling, squeaky plastic chickens, yodelling, giant cow bell swinging and gravity defying balancing skits.
Props include milk urns, a giant tractor tyre, custom fitted wheelbarrows and a mechanical bull!
A favourite character on the night was the pole climbing, tractor riding, stilt walking ‘Grandpa’ and at the end of the show the audience were treated to witnessing the performers’ adorable young children running on stage to greet their parents.
This is a show for all ages – a wonderful family-friendly show perhaps aimed at adults, but perfectly suitable for children too. If you speak French you will enjoy it even more!
