Clare Holiday & Caravan Park | Review
A family holiday in Clare is the perfect getaway less than 2 hours from Adelaide.
The beautiful Clare Valley is about an hour and forty five minutes (approximately 138km) drive from Adelaide. This is the home of the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend, the first food and wine festival in Australia, and the annual Clare Easter Races, both of which I’ve enjoyed in past years. This trip however was very much a family affair. In fact our group was made up of 6 families – 12 adults and 14 children between the ages of 3 and 8 years old.
The big drawcard here for families is the waterpark, huge bouncing pillow and swimming pool. We visited in early March and were blessed with beautiful warm weather to still enjoy the pool. Although I suspect the kids would have swam even in winter! There are also e-bikes, pedal bikes and pedal karts for hire.
Accomodation options include 1 and 2 bedroom cabins, powered drive-thru sites, gravel sites and powered tent sites.
The grown-ups aren’t forgotten here either with experiences nearby such as the Riesling Trail, where all you need are your walking shoes and a wine glass. Families can also explore local art galleries, cafes and wineries, historic pastoral estates, conservation parks and more.
