Cormorant Drive Reserve Upgrade in Hallett Cove
Upgrades to the Cormorant Drive Reserve are underway for 2023, including a new giant Diprotodon sculpture climb.
Cormorant Drive Reserve in Hallett Cove, is a local level playground designed to cater for people living and working within walking distance. These spaces are less developed with limited play equipment. The site is a beautiful, natural location that will be enhanced with play elements that are sensitive to, and harmonious with, the natural surrounds.
The reserve has an interesting history with a Diprotodon (Giant Wombat) fossil remains found in the area in 1992. This Australian megafauna was the world’s largest marsupial and lived between 150,000-10,000 years ago. The playground will have an exciting and educational Diprotodon theme, making it a truly unique reserve.
Key elements of the upgrade design will include:
- Diprotodon sculpture climb
- Diprotodon sand pit
- Hill Slide
- Swings
- Megafauna interactive search and find game
- Nature play rocks and logs
- Extension of existing rubble path
- New Picnic Table and Bench Seat
- Drinking fountain
Location:
Cormorant Drive, Hallett Cove
