Dart Blaster Arena | Gluttony at Adelaide Fringe 2022 | Review

★★★★★ Five stars for a cheap, fun way for kids to blow off some steam

You’ll find the arena set up in Gluttony at the Adelaide Fringe near the Melba Spiegeltent, on the left of the main pathway down the hill from the East Terrace entrance, tucked next to the Art-chery stand.

How does it work? You are given safety glasses or goggles if you think you’re going to be super serious, a quick run down of the rules, and then sent out into the arena for 15 minutes.

There is a huge table of toy guns to choose from, and guns are returned to a bin to be sanitised before the next user. You can swap guns as often as you wish. Darts litter the ground – grab them when you need them. There are plenty of obstacles to hide behind, and targets on the fences for practice.

What does it cost? $7 for 15 minutes of free play, unlimited toy guns and unlimited foam darts.

What we liked about it: This is one of the cheaper activities at the Fringe, and allows the kids to run around and expel some energy. The arena is nicely shaded and there’s seating off to the side for parents who don’t want to participate. It doesn’t matter if you only have one kid with you – there will be plenty of other kids running around to play with. There’s a huge selection of different toy guns to choose from, and barrels, corners and inflatable boulders to hide behind for sneak attacks.
