Flagstaff Hotel l Indoor Playground & Kids Eat Free l Review

Flagstaff Hotel in Darlington offers family friendly dining, an indoor playground and kids eat free deals.

We love taking the family out for dinner, and we love it even more when the kids are entertained! The Flagstaff Hotel has a new indoor playground and it’s super fun to explore. And as an added bonus, Kids Eat Free on Sundays and for $7 on Mondays.*

The Bistro

The perfect place for casual family dining, the Flagstaff Hotel is situated on Main South Road in Darlington. Easily recognisable with its floor to ceiling windows, itโ€™s a large venue with lots of parking spaces available. There are also ramps at both sides of the building for easy access for those with prams or wheelchairs. The interior is fresh, modern and spacious with loads of natural light when visiting during the day.

Diners are spoilt for choice with an extensive menu, featuring pub favourites such as schnitzels, fish and chips and roasts. There are a range of burgers, steaks, and curries as well as salad bowls. Gluten free and vegan diners will love it here, as there are many available options on the menu. Itโ€™s a great place to meet up for coffee and cake too, with a selection of sweet treats on offer as well.

At our visit, we enjoyed a delicious lamb roast, complete with yummy roast veggies and a super tasty Crispy Fried Beef Salad.

Kids Eat Free*

We love a great restaurant that has a Kids Eat Free day! With every main meal purchased on Sundays, kids receive a free meal. Not only that, but Monday is โ€˜locals nightโ€™ in the bistro, where classic meals are $19 and kids meals are $7. We highly recommend booking ahead, as these days are very popular and can get quite busy. (prices as at August 2024)

There is something for even the pickiest of eaters on the kids menu; a choice of hot dog, pasta, nuggets, roast, fish and chips, cheeseburger, and chicken schnitzel or wrap.

Flagstaff Hotel Kids Eat Free Meals

On regular days, kids meals range from $10-$12 in price, but for only $15, diners can bundle any kids main with a pop top juice and an ice-cream. Salad can be added to any meal for $2 extra. Our kids couldnโ€™t resist trying the chocolate and strawberry milkshakes as well, even I had to have a sneaky sip, delicious!

Indoor Playground

The Flagstaff Hotel has recently installed a fantastic new play area for kids, and it’s awesome! Separated by glass doors and windows, the play area also features a giant tv screen and comfy beanbags to relax on.

The playground is suitable for kids aged between 3-10 years, however adult supervision is recommended. Featuring a slide, tunnels, climbing areas, memory game and maze, this playground is sure to keep kids (and parents!) happy while they wait for their meals to arrive.

We love the Flagstaff Hotel for great value, family friendly dining. Itโ€™s sure to be a favourite for the kids too!
