FREE Sesame Street Books for Kids

BIG W is set to give away more than 2.6 million Sesame Street books entirely free as part of its Free Books For Kids program, with another 40,000 books to be given to children in need.

Returning for its fifth instalment, the initiative seeks to support literacy by making books for early learning more accessible, this time partnering with Sesame Workshop (the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street). The program enables people across the nation to collect a new Sesame Street book each week, for eight weeks, from Thursday 18 February 2021 with no purchase necessary (available nationally while stocks last).

Featuring everybody’s favourite Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Grover, Big Bird and The Cookie Monster, the books embrace heart-warming stories with inspiring messages for toddlers around individuality, dreaming big and understanding differences.

To make story time more exciting for the whole family, famous Aussie faces including Rose Byrne and Olivia Newton John will be reading their favourite books, with the videos available across BIG W’s YouTube channel and the BIG W Free Books for Kids Podcast.

In addition to the 2.6 million Sesame Street books given away in stores and via streaming options, BIG W is further committed to making books for early learning accessible to even more Australians by donating another 40,000 to the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) and Good360 Australia for families living in remote and rural areas, and communities in need.
