Greyhound Adoption Program SA 21st Birthday Party + Foster and Adoption Day
Greyhound Adoption Program SA (GAP SA) is celebrating a birthday milestone this Saturday 20 October 2018 as the initiative turns 21 years of age.
Greyhound enthusiasts including owners and prospective owners of retired hounds, will congregate at GAP’s headquarters at Angle Park for a party filled with activities to suit both two and four legged attendees. GAP is encouraging anyone who owns or has owned a greyhound to come down and help celebrate all of the wonderful greyhounds, foster carers and adoptive families that have been a part of this program for 21 years.
Family dogs are also welcome to attend – particularly if they want to meet a potential canine sibling, it’s good to know that they will get along.
Activities:
- Bouncy castle
- Face painting
- Stalls selling doggy treats
- Massages for the hounds
- Best dressed competition at 12:15pm for greyhounds
- BBQ
- Coffee van
- Stalls and more.
Adoption & Fostering Opportunity:
The highlight of the day will be the 20 greyhounds that will be available for adoption or fostering. It is suggested that if you are considering adopting or fostering a greyhound on the day to get in early. It is common for all available greyhounds to be adopted or fostered within the first hour and a half.
But you don’t need to wait until an adoption day to adopt or foster a greyhound – they are available all year round so go along to find out more.
There will be a special adoption fee of $121 (normally $150) to celebrate the 21st Birthday Party.
Team members from GAP SA will be on hand during the celebrations to help answer any questions people may have about the breed, or about adoption or fostering.
