The Grove Shopping Centre Playground – The Golden Way, Golden Grove
The Grove Shopping Centre has a great playspace which is a little different to what you would usually find at a shopping centre.
This was a great surprise to find this play equipment here. We happened to discover it while doing a quick shop for snacks when we were at the Golden Grove Recreation Centre across the road for a sports event.
We recognised this large dome climbing equipment straight away. It’s the same one that’s at the Bonython Park Playspace in the city.
It offers kids a challenging climbing and balancing experience, also encouraging imaginative play.
The playground is in an opening which is bordered by shops, Cafe Primo and a covered outdoor area with tables and chairs, just outside of the food court.
It’s not shaded however, but in the mornings the buildings may offer some shade over the area.
There is a cute boat themed play structure for little ones with climbing options and slide. This equipment sits beside a tree which offers some shade.
Another familiar piece of equipment that is also at Bonython Park and at many playgrounds these days which offer water play, is this water pump, trough and waterway. It’s always great to watch kids cooperate and socially interact with each other when using the water outlets and opening the dams.
TIP: Bring a towel and/or a change of clothes if your kids love to play in the water.
Please be aware that the playground is not fenced and the openings outside of this area lead to the car parks. Any ‘runners’ or ‘wanderers’ will need to be supervised carefully.
If you grab a table alongside at the Primo Cafe you can eat and watch the kids close by. There are plenty of tables and chairs in the undercover area which overlooks the playspace. You could catch up with a friend, have a coffee or lunch here while the kids play. There are public toilets inside the shopping centre.
