This family friendly hairdresser at St Agnes is not only the perfect place to book your child’s first haircut but a salon you will come back to time and again with the family.

I am going to be honest with you, I was apprehensive getting my daughter’s hair cut for the first time. Not because I felt that a hairdresser would stuff it up but because I wanted to stop time and hold onto each phase of her life, and in some way was equating this milestone with her growing up. I put off booking an appointment for way too long and one day walked past an eye catching kid friendly salon and knew it was the sign that I needed.
Walking into Hair by Rebecca the first thing that you notice is how well thought out the space is for children. The walls are painted an eye catching sky blue with a sunshine clock taking prime position and colourful stickers, height charts and a big television adorning the walls. Making your way towards the counter you walk past the novelty car chairs in a bunch of different designs to appeal to boys and girls of varying ages.
There are hair accessories, socks and even cute jewellery spread out throughout the shop to tempt you as you wait. Then smack bang in the middle of the salon is a dedicated kids play space with small plastic walls, foam flooring and toys laid out for kids to enjoy. To put it in simple terms, it is the family friendly hairdressing salon that you didn’t know that you need!
Shop fit out aside, this salon offers your standard cut, colour and blow dry and for kids you can book a kids cut, pamper package, head lice treatment or their very popular first hair cut which comes with a personalised certificate.
Since my early apprehensions, I have returned time and again to this hair salon. Not just because I have always had a positive experience but because my kids beg me to come. The hairdressers are great at calming the kids, pampering them and making the whole experience feel fun.
Chatting about my experience at this salon with the Play & Go Adelaide team, it is evident I am not the only fan of this small business. Hair by Rebecca is a northern suburbs institute. A place that has been looking after families for over ten years.
So, if you are a nervous parent looking for a special salon to take your child for a first cut, or have kids that hate going to the hairdresser and can’t sit still, give this place a try.

- This place gets booked up quickly, especially in the lead up to school or special events so book in advance.
