Adelaide Zoo’s freaky family event ‘Boo at the Zoo’ is back this Halloween!
Calling all ghosts, ghouls and gremlins! Book your Boo at the Zoo adventure for a frightfully-fun night of entertainment. Dress up in bewitching costumes and stop for a snap at the spooky decorations littered throughout the zoo. Fill up your treat bag along the trick-or-treat trail and gobble goodies from delicious local companies.
Spooky Costumes
Get dressed in your spooky best to take some faboolous family snaps amongst all the decorations.
Costume Guidelines
To help make the evening safe and enjoyable for everyone, including the animals, please follow these guidelines:
- Costumes should not be taller or wider than the average person. For example, inflatable costumes and oversized props.
- This is a family-friendly event, so please make sure your costume is appropriate for all ages.
- Items such as balls, balloons, selfie sticks, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades or similar equipment are not permitted on site.
Treat Stations
On arrival, you’ll receive a Treat Bag (yes, even Mum and Dad!). Visit the treat stations around the site to fill it with tasty goodies – no tricks!
Fun Performances
Sing and dance along with the live performers on the Central Lawns.

Relaxed Boo at the Zoo
Friday 30 October 2026 | 3pm-4pm
A quieter and calmer experience for anyone who would benefit from a low-sensory environment.
These tickets are prioritised for those with sensory needs, with just as many delicious treats! The relaxed session includes an earlier start time, reduced capacity, lowered volume on installations and reduced human noises.
Visitors attending the Relaxed session are welcome to stay and explore for the evening but should be aware that the gates will open to other guests at full capacity from 4pm.

Adelaide Zoo will close at 2:30pm on Friday 30 October 2026 so they can transform the zoo ready for the fun. Gates will reopen at 3pm to Boo at the Zoo ticket holders.. Children under the age of 4 must have a free cub reservation purchased for them. View full T&Cs on the Zoos SA website.
