Frozen is the new Disney animated movie which is bound to be a hit. Like Tangled, the Disney Princesses in this movie are brave and courageous; overcoming physical affliction and sorrow to rise above the baddies in a great adventure.
I love how these new Disney Princesses are strong and adventurous. Like other Disney movies, you will find these things familiar: the very tragic story line which is inspired by Hans Christian Andersenโs The Snow Queen; catchy musical numbers; love story theme and cute characters. Itโs a great story with enough substance, and has a couple of twists that make it interesting and entertaining for the adults as well. Olaf the friendly snowman will melt your heart. The kids will absolutely love him. Actually, Iโm pretty sure everyone will love him. Look out for the adorable magical trolls too.
Scary factor: there is a giant scary snow man and chase scene which little ones might find frightening.
The overlying theme of love conquers all, is all too true โ but itโs not what you might expect. I love that itโs not quite like some of the other fairytales. ย I wonโt spoil the story by giving details. This one is a must-see in the Summer school holidays.

Disney Animation Studios presents Frozen, the coolest comedy-adventure ever to hit the big screen. When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Annaโs sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, a funny snowman named Olaf, Everest-like extremes and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.
From the outside, Elsa looks poised, regal and reserved, but in reality, she lives in fear as she wrestles with a mighty secretโshe was born with the power to create ice and snow. Itโs a beautiful ability, but also extremely dangerous. Haunted by the moment her magic nearly killed her younger sister Anna, Elsa has isolated herself, spending every waking minute trying to suppress her growing powers. Her mounting emotions trigger the magic, accidentally setting off an eternal winter that she canโt stop. She fears sheโs becoming a monster and that no one, not even her sister, can help her.
Anna is more daring than graceful and, at times, can act before she thinks. But sheโs also the most optimistic and caring person youโll ever meet. She longs to reconnect with her sister, Elsa, as they were close during their childhood. When Elsa accidentally unleashes a magical secret that locks the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter, Anna embarks on a dangerous adventure to make things right. Armed with only her fearlessness, a never-give-up attitude and her faith in others, Anna is determined to save both her kingdom and her family.
Hans is a handsome royal from a neighboring kingdom who comes to Arendelle for Elsaโs coronation. With 12 older brothers, Hans grew up feeling practically invisibleโand Anna can relate. Hans is smart, observant and chivalrous. Unlike Elsa, Hans promises heโll never shut Anna out; he just might be the connection sheโs been waiting for all these years.
Heโs Olaf and he likes warm hugs. Sprung from Elsaโs magical powers, Olaf is by far the friendliest snowman to walk the mountains above Arendelle. His innocence, outgoing personality and uncanny ability to disassemble himself at good and not-so-good times lead to some awkward, albeit laughable moments. He may also have the worldโs most impossible dream, but what he doesnโt know wonโt melt himโor will it?
Kristoff is a true outdoorsman. He lives high up in the mountains where he harvests ice and sells it to the kingdom of Arendelle. Rough around the edges, Kristoffโs the strong, no-nonsense type, who follows his own set of rules. He may seem like a loner, but he always has his best friend by his sideโa loyal and extremely mangy reindeer named Sven.
A reindeer with the heart of a Labrador, Sven is Kristoffโs loyal friend, sleigh-puller and conscience. He makes sure his mountain-man companion is the stand-up guy Sven knows and loves, and does so without saying a word. A few emphatic snorts usually get his point across. Life would be perfect if only Kristoff would lose that ridiculous reindeer voice he likes to use when speaking for Sven (as if reindeers really talk that way).
