Kid/Dub Time Machine Review
Dust off your party pants: 11am is the new 11pm!
If you’ve been missing those days pre-kids when you could shake your stuff on the dance floor then add Kid/Dub Time Machine to your Fringe wish-list. A smorgasbord of favourite dance hits from the 1950s to now, Kid/Dub Time Machine will have you and your little people up and grooving.
Set in the beautiful Magic Mirror Spiegeltent in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, Kid/Dub Time Machine invites parents to dance along with their children in a fun, family-friendly environment. From The Jackson Five to Justin Bieber thereβs something for all musical tastes and best of all it doesnβt involve getting a babysitter or having a late night!
The best kids party ever
Kid/Dub Time Machine is billed as the best kids party ever, and is brought to you by the team behind Hot Dub Time Machine, and follows the same time-travelling format.
What the Play & Go kids thought of Kid/Dub Time Machine
While they werenβt familiar with all the musical numbers there were plenty of songs that were real crowd pleasers. I think they enjoyed seeing the grown-ups reliving some of their favourite dance moves from the 80s and 90s.
The big kids really enjoyed the party atmosphere and lighting and the space to dance and express themselves.
Our kids loved the glow-sticks that were handed out as we arrived, and the bubble machine was a massive hit with the toddler. The other highlight was when a cloud of red balloons was released over the crowd during the song 99 Luftballons.
If youβre after something fun and physical to do with your kids then Kid/Dub Time Machine is for you. Itβs on at the Garden of Unearthly Delights until 19 March 2017.
Tips for enjoying Kid/Dub Time Machine
β€οΈThereβs water available should you work up a thirst after all that vogueing, twisting and raving.
β€οΈThereβs plenty of seating around the edges of the venue, if little legs need a rest, or if sleep deprived parents need a quiet spot to recharge and chat.
β€οΈPrams arenβt allowed inside the Magic Mirror Spiegeltent but you can park your pram right outside.
β€οΈIf youβve got a babe in arms then you might want to bring a sling or frontpack. We saw a couple of babies blissfully sleeping away while their parents danced.
β€οΈKids might like to dress up for the occasion. We saw a few little girls in tutus enjoying swirling around.
β€οΈIf you pop your glowsticks in the freezer when you get home this will prolong their life.
