Red Cacao Chocolate Shop and Café Review
Within the quiet, leafy village of Stirling is a chocolate shop and café worthy of its status as one of the best in South Australia. It is tucked away just off the main street but has easy access to ample parking.
Marcus Booth-Remmers is the chocolatier and founder of “Red Cacao”, a boutique, artisan café and chocolate shop full of beautifully hand-crafted truffles, single origin chocolate and desserts. Years spent abroad training in Europe and Australia combined with a background as a patisserie chef are evident in Marcus’ creations, all made from high quality ingredients with love and attention to detail.
From the moment you step into the café, there is a genuine warmth from the staff who are always welcoming, knowledgeable and obliging.
The café has an intimate indoor space and an inviting outdoor space with a manicured lawn area surrounded by red roses and bushes, complete with hiding space for the kids!
Red Cacao is the kind of place where you feel no need to rush, but with small children in tow can feel secure that you will be served promptly.
Each visit to Red Cacao is made special by a complimentary tasting spoon of Marcus’ latest dessert invention. My most recent tasting was a small piece of hot cross bun chocolate complete with all the familiar spices of a real bun and a berry sorbet complete with fig shards.
My two children consider it a real treat to be able to visit Red Cacao with me and indulge in lovingly made, superior quality chocolate delicacies and the best hot chocolates. And even though I confess to being very familiar with Red Cacao, it is always a treat for me too!
