Train Park Croydon Playground Review

This train-themed, fenced playground in Croydon is perfect for kids who love trains

Review by Susannah Marks

If your kids are train enthusiasts then put this fun, train-themed playground on your list of playgrounds in Adelaide to visit. It’s one of our favourite playgrounds for toddlers in Adelaide. Although it’s actually called Croydon Playground Reserve my kids call it the Train Park because it’s right next to the Croydon train stop and you can see the trains arrive at the train stop just through the fence. There’s also a train in the playground that you can climb inside.

Train Park is perfect for toddlers who love trains because it’s fully fenced and has lots to enjoy and explore. In fact there are two playgrounds here just next to one another, both fenced. One caters more to older kids and the other is perfect for little people. Here’s why we love Train Park in Croydon and why we think it’s one of the best toddler playgrounds in Adelaide.

Trains are pretty frequent – we saw three come by in the space of half an hour. The timetable is on the Adelaide Metro site.

The train theme continues! It’s all a bit train-tastic.

This little house was a big hit with the toddlers as were the little ride-on truck, motorbike and the low swings.

Things to consider

❤️ There are no toilets in the playground itself but there are shops and cafes up the road

❤️ It’s street parking only. We usually find it easy to grab a park nearby but I imagine this will depend on the time of day/week

❤️ There wasn’t a lot of shade over the bigger kids’ playground and the little kids’ playground does have some bark chips

Coffee and food options nearby

It’s not just train enthusiasts who are well catered for because Train Park is right near the Croydon shops where it’s easy to find good coffee. Everyone wins!

We particularly like refuelling at Queen Street Cafe and Red Door Bakery. If time allows we also like a bit of a wander along the street to check out the latest beautiful furniture at One Small Room.
