Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji
If you find yourself in the Clare Valley and are looking for the perfect place to feed your family, look no further than Just Julie’s Café. Located on the main street of Clare with a retro vibe and and striking red and white design features, the space is light, airy and incredibly inviting. Opening up the doors to Just Julies, the first thing we noticed was how well the space caters to diners of all ages, visiting with a baby and a big pram, we were able to easily navigate the café with plenty of options for pram parking. We saw quite a few older couples with mobility issues also access the space without an issue, which is great for multi generational meals and also shows the care and consideration of the business.

Making our way inside we loved that there were options for booth seating, big groups, tables place by the window and plenty of places to position yourself inside right near the kids corner. We were also pleasantly surprised to find the kids corner which is hidden towards the side of the shop in a small room that is fun for small children. Not only was the kids corner a great touch, we also noticed some of the tables had tic tac toe and little games left on them to cater to young diners.

Moving onto the food, one aspect that we loved about Just Julie’s Cafe was how well it catered to kids and diners with dietary requirements including vegetarian, halal and gluten free. At the time of our visit the kid’s menu included nuggets and chips, a cheeseburger and fish and chips, all ranging from $12-$13 (as at July 2026) and they were decent sizes too!
Kids options aside, the menu also has the option for half serves which is great for people with small appetites and children wanting more options. We tried the chicken nuggets and chips, kids fish and chips, the squid and chips and a chicken BLT and chips, we all loved our meals and left feeling full and satisfied. We were also tempted by the build your own sandwich option, which offers a low cost lunch option.

Not only was the setting comfortable, the facilities great for families and the food absolutely delicious, the service was warm and friendly. All of the staff members we met were so accommodating to us and our children, no question was too much trouble and we will absolutely visit next time we go to Clare!

After our visit we made our way to the visitor information centre, which is a great stop for anyone going to Clare. If you don’t sit down and enjoy the information centre we would recommend calling past on your way to the cafe, grabbing a few brochures and planning out your next stop whilst you sit and wait for your food at Just Julie’s.
We don’t mean to brag but we do feel as if we have stumbled upon a hidden gem at Just Julie’s Café! This cafe is inviting, kid friendly and the menu ticks a lot of boxes for families. So if you are mentally planning your next visit to the region, make sure you put this place on the list.
