Kalayaan Fil Fest 2023

Kalayaan Fil Fest is a family friendly community event celebrating Philippine culture.

This event commemorates and celebrates the 125th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Philippine Republic with the help of its community. The goal of the event is to promote a sense of pride in Filipino heritage and celebrate collective identity, create cultural awareness among the diverse Filipino national and ethnic groups, and create a space for Filipino-Australians to gather and celebrate as one. Entry is free and it is open to all ages and nationalities.

There will be various performances by talented Filipinos including:

  • Traditional Philippine folk dance
  • Martial arts
  • Spoken poetry
  • Cultural fashion ramp walk
  • Music bands
  • Modern sounds

Services and both Filipino and non-Filipino food stalls will also available at the venue.

Children’s Activities:

  • Sack race
  • Philippine Mancala game
  • Chess & Dama/Checkers board game
  • Tug of war
  • Kariling racing (Tyre racing)
  • Hep, hep, Hooray! for kids
  • Kids play pen area
  • Face painting

Parking information:

Limited free parking is available at Bonython Park. There’s a Pri-Park for $6 for 12hrs parking across the Thebarton 4hrs parking space. There’s also Bonython Park Tram Stop right by the venue.
