Kids & Teens Pottery Classes at Urth Clay Studio – Burnside & Goodwood

Kids and teen holiday pottery classes offer a wonderful opportunity for young individuals to explore their creativity, tap into their imagination, and experience the therapeutic benefits of working with clay.

Big Brain Tiny Hands one-off holiday pottery classes prioritise experimentation and muddy fun over seeking perfection. Unlike traditional approaches, Urth Clay encourages kids to freely explore shapes and textures, fostering a sense of joy in the creative process while introducing a step to step guideline of how to create a strong piece.

The therapeutic experience of working with clay provides a meditative environment for kids to de-stress and express themselves artistically. With hands-on, tactile engagement, their classes offer a break from screens, allowing children to immerse themselves in the sensory pleasure of clay. Expert guidance, rather than strict rules, empowers kids to bring their unique visions to life, creating an atmosphere of liberating creativity. Kids & Teens Holiday Classes – Big brains tiny hands

In this unique session for ages 7 to 17, kids will try the pottery wheel for 60 minutes, and then will work on a hand-building project for another 60 minutes.

Kids will then have 30 minutes break in the nature reserve next to the studio where they can have their recess and snacks. Please only bring nut-free snacks.

Parents can settle kids in but they are not allowed to stay during the whole session.

One project will be fired to food-safe and waterproof finishing, using only Australian-certified products.

Session Details:

Approximately 2 and a half hours session
All material included
Working on 2 techniques: the pottery wheel and sculpting
They will have 2 separate groups according to age
Accompanied friends will be grouped together
