Kids Rookie Kart Racing at Mega Fast Karts Richmond

If your kids are getting a little too old for bumper cars, love playing online racing games and have a need for speed, then Mega Fast Karts in Richmond is the place to go!  Open 7 days a week and every school holidays, the kids can join in the action on the track all on their own and test out their driving skills.

Mega Fast Karts have Little Thunder Rookie Karts built just for kids and a dedicated Rookie Track designed for beginners, making it the perfect environment for kids to start learning how to drive safely long before they conquer the roads.  The track has big long straights so the karts are able to get some real speed up before the corners.  Although simple on a map, this track is the ideal environment for kids to learn how to handle a kart and how to handle corners.

The karts are especially designed for kids of all shapes and sizes from the smaller kids right through to adults. With a restricted top speed of around 40kph, the kids get to experience racing in a safe, controlled environment.  The karts were upgraded when Ultra Fast Karts took them over from Kart Mania.  They are now all equipped with toe guards, upgraded nose panels, the seat belts have protective sleeves and several mechanical upgrades have made the karts safer and more reliable.  There are more upgrades planned for this year (2014).

The Rookie Track has a maximum of 6 karts on the track at a time, with the option to cater for larger groups with multiple sessions on the Rookie Track or all at once on the GP Track (max 12 at once).

As the only karting company in Adelaide that allows children as young as 9 years old to drive the karts on their own, it’s the ideal place to get a few friends together and have some fun.  The Rookie Karts are suitable for children aged between 9 and 13 years and a minimum of 138cm tall.

If your child is younger than 9 they can still have a go in a 2 seater kart driven by an adult.  The minimum age to ride in the Dual Seater is 5 years old.  Adults are also more than welcome to join in the fun with the kids at no extra cost.

Mega Fast Karts also offer Grand Prix Racing for ages 16+ years, Endurance Racing for 14+ years, Laser Skirmish and they host birthday parties and corporate functions.
