Legacy’s Remembrance Walk 2020

Walk to remember a loved one; father, mother, grandmother, grandfather, sister or brother or walk to show support for the families who lost their loved one during war or peace keeping whilst serving our country.

Legacy’s Remembrance Walk is a time to reflect, to learn and pay tribute to Military troops and their families. Legacy’s Remembrance Walk will help the community understand what Legacy does, who Legacy helps, and to remember the sacrifices of our Australian Defence Force and their families.

Legacy encourages all their participants to go the extra mile and help raise crucial funds for Legacy.

The 2019/2020 bushfire season and Covid-19 have hit most charities hard. Legacy appreciates your support now more than ever.

Virtual Walk throughout November:

On Remembrance Day, the 11th day of the 11th month, Legacy are asking the community to walk/run 11kms to remember our fallen or injured heroes and ensure Legacy Families in South Australia and Broken Hill left behind do not suffer after the loss of a loved one who served our country.

Set a goal, which you could achieve in many ways, as a team you can split the mileage between you or you can also walk in the physical event on Friday 6 November, and then each day until 11 November.

You can walk anywhere, anytime, whether in Broken Hill or Ceduna or any of the other regional areas. Join in through social pages and/or strava to get your walk/run counted.

Even go further with your challenge – raise $100 to get one free entry to the physical event at The Torrens Parade Ground on Friday 6 November.

Physical Event:

Starting at the Torrens Parade Ground, meet at 7am for a 7:30am start with a minute’s silence, then follow the Australian Light Horse Brigade mounted troops for a walk of 1.5 km’s up King William Street, around Government House, along North Terrace, turning at Kintore Avenue to walk along the ANZAC Centenary Memorial Walk path and finishing back at the Parade Grounds with a Legacy BBQ breakfast and opportunity to say “thank you”.
