Lot 100 | Cellar Door & Restaurant | Hay Valley | Review

Lot 100 – Cellar door, Brewery, Distillery and Restaurant

Lot 100 is situated in the Hay Valley, just outside of the township of Nairne and is approximately a 35 minute drive up the freeway from the City of Adelaide. It is surrounded by rolling hills, huge gums and beautiful countryside so it really is a very peaceful spot to relax with friends.

Lot 100 was launched in December 2018, a collaboration between ‘Mismatch Brewing’, ‘Hills Cider’, ‘Adelaide Hills Distillery’, ‘Vinteloper’ and ‘Ashton Valley Fresh’.  There are 40 beers on tap plus tastings of wine, gin, cider and even Ashton Valley’s juices.  The variety of beverages on offer is great news for those who are either beer or wine drinkers as there is something to please everyone. Even the kids can have a taste of the different flavoured juices on offer.

There are two seating and eating options. The outdoor section is informal and perfect for families on a sunny day. Staff are very helpful in ensuring visitors have adequate shade on a warm day and there are plenty of cool drink options to choose from. There is also a large, grassy section underneath a huge gum which is the perfect spot for families to spread out and kids to run around. Casual seating is available here, but bring a picnic rug and some games for the kids.

There is a snack menu available for guests who are seated outside which includes platters, pizza (including gluten free), toastie and crispy potatoes. The offering is simple but the food quality is fantastic. The pizza and crispy potatoes with aioli were simply delicious.

There is a good list of non-alcoholic sparkling drinks and an extensive list of cider, gin and tonic, wine, beer and more.

Inside the huge shed is a spacious more formal seated area plus two outdoor decks which offer views of the valley below. There is a “rustic Italian” menu which changes weekly, but going by the standard of food available to snack on outside, returning to sample the restaurant menu is definitely on the cards.

We really enjoyed the fantastic quality food and beverages on offer and the relaxed feel about the outdoor setting. This is a really versatile destination which will suit families as a place to catch up with friends for lunch.

Tips for visiting with kids:

  • Take some games, books or a small ball to entertain the kids. Kids may choose to simply run around and enjoy the open space though!
  • Ensure you book a table in advance, particularly if you are looking to eat inside the restaurant.
