Marion Battle of the Bands | 25-26 Nov 2023

Marion Battle of the Bands – hear from the best local talent Marion has to offer.

The 2023 battle will be held at Marion Cultural Centre on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November. There are two categories, competing for a life changing prize; a mentoring and recording package from Island Recording studios, that culminates in the release of a single.

On Saturday, enjoy a performance by Choosing Sides, an explosive indie-rock music band, hailing from the south coast of Adelaide. Choosing Sides are one of the most energetic and contagiously fun young acts to recently emerge on the Australian indie-rock scene.

On Sunday audiences will be treated to a headline performance by The Empty Threats, winners of the 2023 National Music Awards ‘BEST LIVE ACT’. The Empty Threats are an energetic/eccentric five-piece post punk/noise rock band with the perfect blend of influences from across many genres. They have a captivating and unique live performance to show off.

This FREE event also features a cool market activation in the Marion Cultural Centre Plaza, with over 40 young stallholders aged 5 to 25, a chillout zone, live solo acoustic performances and a sensory safe space hosted by Young Hearts Pop up Markets.

The event is a youth led initiative organised, facilitated and created by the City of Marion Youth Collective Committee.
