National Tree Day 2022

Join the community to help plant one million native trees.

Planet Ark’s National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event.  It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.

While every day can be Tree Day, they dedicate celebration of Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day to the last Friday in July, and first Sunday in August respectively.

National Tree Day 2022 will be celebrated on Sunday 31 July, but they encourage events at any time of year.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of people volunteer their time to plant seedlings and regenerate thousands of hectares of unique Australian landscape.  To learn how to host an event, download the Community how-to guide here. The guide offers a wide range of activities and event ideas to help you get started.

Don’t have time to host an event? You can still get involved by volunteering at a site near you.
