Nature Play SA’s Park of the Month will showcase a different park each month and encourage children and families to experience a range of landscapes, flora and fauna while taking part in fun nature based activities.
June 2015 Park of the Month is Flinders Ranges National Park
Flinders Ranges National Park is something that every South Australia family should experience. Rugged mountain ranges, spectacular gorges, sheltered creeks lined with river red gums and abundant wildlife are just some of the attractions that make it one of our most celebrated landscapes.
Cradled within the parks towering mountains is the famous Wilpena Pound (Ikara), renowned for its natural, cultural and geological significance.
Start your adventure at Wilpena Pound Visitor Information Centre where you will find all the information to help you explore and discover Aboriginal rock art sites, fossil heritage and ruins of early European settlement.
Flinders Ranges National Park provides an authentic outback experience, you can camp, bushwalk, cycle, birdwatch, spot native wildlife and experience Aboriginal rock art and cultural heritage.
