Nest Kiosk | Kingston Park | Review

Situated along the oceanfront where Kingston Park meets Seacliff, Nest Kiosk is a welcoming, family-friendly spot to relax and take in the breathtaking South Australian coastline.
Review by Carla Caruso
Want to feel like you’re on holiday without actually being on holidays? Nest Kiosk at Kingston Park is the place to be.
Opened in 2024, the kiosk sits right next to Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park and the stunning Kingston Park oceanfront. Owning a home here, with such uninterrupted coastal views, would be a dream!
The architecturally designed venue is the third café venture from brothers Tom and Ben Rodger, who also run The Seller Door in Brighton and The Local Canteen in Henley Beach.

In December 2025, they expanded their presence further with the ‘coffee hole’, Little Nest Marino, within the Marino Community Hall (44 Newland Avenue). It serves up coffee and light bites daily until midday, close to the Seacliff Village housing estate being developed.

The Rodger brothers come from a winemaking family in McLaren Vale, and the names, Nest Kiosk and Little Nest, are inspired by their childhood property, El Nido – meaning ‘The Nest’ in Spanish. Fittingly, Nest Wines are available at the Kingston Park venue, too.

On a beautiful, sunny December day, our family of four visited Nest Kiosk for lunch. There’s a small car park next door with a three-hour limit. Inside the kiosk, there’s seating for 40, plus 42 shaded, dog-friendly outdoor seats, with takeaway service also on offer.
During our outing, we tried the sweet potato and chickpea fritters with feta, tahini dressing, and rocket-pomegranate salad (so yum); the bacon benny on sourdough with poached eggs, hollandaise, and sautéed spinach; lemon-peppered squid with chips and house slaw (divine!); and the Nest smash burger with double beef patties, cheese, tomato, pickles, sauce, and mustard on a brioche bun.
Each dish was flavourful and hearty, leaving everyone at our table completely satisfied.

Other menu highlights include bowla granola (a fab name), prawn tacos, Turkish eggs, pancakes, smashed avo on sourdough, and acai bowls. There’s also a kids’ menu for under-12s, along with smoothies, cold-pressed juices, milkshakes, hot drinks, local beers, and of course, wine.

After lunch, we hiked up to the Kingston Park Coastal Reserve lookout, where sweeping views of Tjilbruke Springs and iconic Norfolk Island pines awaited – a perfect way to work off some of our meal.

The fresh air and scenery complemented our relaxed visit to Nest Kiosk, described on its website as “a place to be nurtured, to be fed and taken care of, nestled between the cliff face and water’s edge”.
We certainly felt that.
The kiosk’s open daily* from 6.30am to 3pm for breakfast and lunch, and on Saturday nights during summer from 3pm until sunset for dinner. Beach bliss indeed.

What we like about it
- Playground, beach and Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park just a flip-flop’s throw away
- On-site baby-changing facilities
- A relaxed, beachy indoor-outdoor vibe where kids feel welcome
- Kingston Park is part of the 9km mostly flat, shared-use Coast Park walk between Seacliff and Glenelg (and also a segment of the larger 70 km Coast Park Trail from North Haven to Sellicks Beach), making it a great spot to fuel up before a wander
Things to consider
- Booking ahead is recommended at the kiosk, especially during school holidays
- Some flies may be present in summer; the indoor/outdoor design means they can’t always be avoided
Location:
4 Burnham Rd, Kingston Park.
