Update on the new Skate Park to be built in the City of Adelaide
Adelaide is set to receive a new $3 million skate park integrated into the Gladys Elphick Park/Narnungga (Park 25) to be ready by mid 2022.
The previous city skate park on North Terrace was removed in 2015 to make way for a Uni SA development. Since then, skaters and riders had been petitioning for a new skate park. The design of the new City Skate Park was revealed in October 2020 and construction finally began in early 2021. After numerous delays the project is expected to be completed by mid-2022. The City of Adelaide post regular updates as construction progresses – you can follow along here.
The new skate park will be located directly opposite the RAH and is conveniently located close to public transport. The park also has several multi-purpose sporting fields.

Take a look at the incredible fly over video below showing the skate park’s features, including a large competition bowl with a cradle—the first of its kind in South Australia.
The local skating community has played a key role in shaping the vision for the new park, which will be based under shady trees in Gladys Elphick Park/Narnungga and close to tram, train and bus stops.
