New Paradise Recreation Plaza Now Open | Official Opening 28 Jan 2024

Paradise Skate Park - Paradise Recreation Plaza

The Campbelltown City Council is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated opening of the new state-of-the-art Paradise Recreation Plaza on Wednesday 20 December, providing an exciting and dynamic space for people of all ages, abilities and skill levels to enjoy.

This stand-out $3.9 million facility has been jointly funded by Campbelltown City Council and the Government of South Australia, through the Open Space Grant Program, providing $1.52m.

The Paradise Recreation Plaza is a contemporary multi-use facility that celebrates its history and natural surrounds of the River Torrens Linear Park / Karrawirra Parri in influencing its design.

Set against the backdrop of giant gum trees and the River Torrens, the space brings a modern design ideal for people of all ages, abilities and skill levels who like to be active or just really love getting about on wheels.

Key features of the park include a skate area with bowl, flow zone and street area, dirt BMX track with multiple jumps and berm, pump track, ninja course, parkour zone, play area and sports zone for ball sports.

Users can expect a wide range of new and classic skate features appealing to a range of skill levels and styles, from beginner to advanced in both street and transition disciplines.

A number of unique skate features and blends will offer users an exciting new rider experience, in particular, the hips, transfers and extensions around the flow zone which will allow users the opportunity to create individual lines and perform creative manoeuvres.

There are toilets onsite, barbecues, shelters and a large lawn for people to enjoy a picnic and all the facilities on offer

The accessible toilet including adult change facilities and hoist will be available in March 2024.

Offical Opening – 28 January 2024

To celebrate the opening of the  Campbelltown City Council is hosting the official grand opening on Sunday 28 January, from 11am to 2pm at the Paradise Recreation Plaza. Celebrations will include demonstrations by experienced riders, live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities and an official opening ceremony. This event is free to the public and everyone is invited to attend and experience the fun and excitement of this new space.
