Pick Your Own Figs | Glen Ewin Estate | Houghton

fig picking

Pick Your Own Figs in the Adelaide Hills.

Glen Ewin Estate will be opening the gates for ‘pick your own figs’ from Thursday 9 March 2023.

Forage through the Glen Ewin Estate 12,000 fig tree orchard for perfect figs to take home and enjoy. Pick Your Own is open daily from 9am during the season (subject to private functions) which is generally February to April.

The 2023 season is a month behind from last year due to the cooler weather, so not all varieties will be available during the first few weeks.

The orchard is located north-east of Adelaide and takes only 25 minutes travel time from the CBD.

Please before you call Glen Ewin Estate or go to their property ALWAYS check their website HERE for updated information and their opening and closing times.

Opening Times:

  • Monday to Thursday – 9am to 3pm
  • Friday to Sunday – 9am to 2:30pm, leave by 3pm
  • (due to private functions on the weekends they have strict needs to clear the orchard by 3pm)

  • Children under 12 years old are FREE (must be supervised)
  • Brown Turkey Figs are $15/kg
  • Other Fig Varieties are $15/kg

Please note the five fig varieties ripen at different time of the season so please enquire to avoid disappointment.

After picking, you can also visit the Figbar for a drink, and if you feel like having some food, pre-order a picnic hamper, prepared by the Glen Ewin Chef. The Figbar is open for food Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and there is plenty of shade under the London Plane trees.
